And what could be better than the tea to be Kashmir's special-Kahwa! Kahwa is one such beverage that is an excellent combination of delicious taste, aroma, and a slew of health advantages. It has long been recognised as a component of Kashmiri cuisine.

Origin of Kahwa:

With only one sip, Kahwa may transport you to the beautiful valley of Kashmir. Although its exact origin is not known, Kahwa tea leaves are thought to have originated in China's Yarkand valley while the older generations believe tea was transported to India via the Spice Routes.

It is consumed in northern Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Kashmir Valley, and several Central Asian countries. It has Arabic roots and is currently a classic of Kashmiri cuisine. 

Ingredients present in Kahwa:

Kahwa is an exotic concoction of Kashmiri green tea leaves, whole spices, almonds, and saffron that was historically cooked in a samovar, a brass kettle. The samovar has a centre cavity where hot coal is inserted, while the surrounding space is used to boil water and other tea components. Depending on the component combinations utilised, there are various sorts of Kahwa tea, each with its own distinct flavour and aroma. Saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves are ideal additions to Kashmiri Kahwa. At times, one or two dried fruits such as cherries, apples, raisins, pine nuts, pistachios, walnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, dried apricots, or dates are also added.

Health benefits of Kahwa:

Apart from its exquisite flavour, Kahwa is also known for its therapeutic abilities. This tea provides a number of health benefits, including the relief of sore throats.  Furthermore, the nutrients may help the digestion and immune system. In stressful situations, Kahwa is a good remedy since it relaxes the nervous system and makes one feel better also.

1. Helps in losing fat:

Kashmiri Kahwa has the ability to burn fat while also suppressing hunger. According to research, it boosts fat oxidation and shortens the time taken by your body to convert food into calories. A quicker metabolism makes losing weight simpler. Consuming this tea in between meals will effectively suppress appetite and prevent frequent cravings.

2. Develops immunity:

The saffron in Kahwa is high in vitamin B12, which helps to replenish the body's defence system. The tea's high antioxidant content can help keep your body immune to infection or illness, especially throughout the winter. It's an excellent home remedy for a cold, sore throat, and chest congestion. It also aids in the removal of phlegm that forms during a cold. The warm beverage relieves chest congestion, which aids in the treatment of colds and coughs.

The role of Kahwa in enhancing blood circulation is also known. This tea helps to relax the blood vessels, which improves circulation. This activity also lowers the risk of heart disease by reducing the production of blood clots.

4. It helps to keep healthy skin:

It is quite beneficial in treating acne, redness, and dryness. Kahwa provides key nutrients that provide amazing skin benefits. The skin's moisture content is also maintained, improving overall texture and quality.

This is primarily due to the essential oils included in foods such as almonds. The rose component present in the tea aids in the maintenance of pH balance. Kashmir Kahwa also contains Theanine, which aids in the maintenance of skin clarity.
