Burberry Wins Hearts With A Campaign That Features It's First Child Sikh Model Sahib Singh

British luxury brand Burberry created a massive storm on the internet after it shared a campaign from the Burberry Children's Autumn-Winter '22 collection featuring a four-year-old Sikh Sahib Singh.

New Delhi: The fashion industry has become more open to representation and diversity. On Wednesday evening, British luxury brand Burberry created a massive storm on the internet after it shared a campaign from the Burberry Children's Autumn-Winter '22 collection featuring a four-year-old Sikh Sahib Singh.

The campaign was shared by Burberry through an Instagram live session on Wednesday. Sahib Singh is seen playing with a teddy with someone as a backdrop of a mountain of teddy bears rests behind him.

The Burberry collection is titled back-to-school design. In the pictures that broke the internet, we see Sahib wearing a Thomas Burberry Bear puffer jacket with a cardigan and shorts.

"Sahib had an incredible day with the Burberry team, who really looked after all the children they were shooting with. To see our son, who does look different from his peers, being given a chance by the iconic British brand was truly a milestone moment,” the child model’s mother Harjot Kaur, told Vogue India.

Harjot Kaur also runs Sahib's Instagram account on which we can see Sahib's pictures from the Burberry collection photoshoot along with the video mentioned earlier.

“The feedback has been beyond heartening. We are still trying to comprehend how big this has gotten! The South Asian community has pulled out all the stops to shower love on our little Singh,” Sahib's father Ranjeet Singh told Vogue in the same report.

Harjot Kaur also spoke about celebrating the differences each community has with tolerance. "We want not just Sahib but all the boys in our community to be proud of their heritage, and wear their patkas and paghs with pride and confidence,” she said.

Burberry has made such monumental changes in the way the fashion industry is represented many times. Earlier in 2013, it had British-Punjabi Londoner Neelam Gill, the brand's first Indian model as part of one of their campaigns.
