Television is taxing: Ruslaan Mumtaz

New Delhi: He has dabbled with both films and TV and actor Ruslaan Mumtaz feels the small screen is much more taxing as it demands a lot of time. Ruslaan, who made his television debut with "Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara", will be next seen in "Balika Vadhu...Lamhe Pyaar Ke". The 33-year-old actor feels TV takes away the luxury of going on long holidays but is worth it because it has tremendous reach. "Honestly, TV is taxing because it is an ongoing process. You do not know when it will end. You cannot plan your life. I had planned a holiday to Paris and Greece with my wife, but now that this show has happened, obviously I know I can't go. I can never take a 20-day off," Ruslaan told . "So TV does that. It takes away your enjoyment. But now you've to start enjoying your work. I work hard for what reasons? So that the audience sees and likes me. TV has a big reach so at the end of the day, it is all worth it," he added. Ruslaan made his Bollywood debut in 2007 with "MP3 Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar" and went on to act in films like "Tere Sang" and "Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai". The actor said today television is changing and hopes his current show lasts long enough so that he gets to tap more interesting projects in the future. "Things are completely changing on TV today with limited series and other stuff. Hopefully Balika Vadhu runs for a couple of years so by the time I am ready to move on to something else, the kind of opportunities at that time will be more interesting and pathbreaking." "Balika Vadhu...Lamhe Pyaar Ke" will be new a chapter to the popular serial and will chronicle the journey of Anandi's daughter, Nandini (played by Mahi Vij), a doctor. Ruslaan will be seen playing the character of America- returned modern boy, Krish who lands a medical internship at a hospital in Jaipur. "My character is not judgemental, not a hypocrite. He is not stuck in any societal norms. I bring the modern thought process through my character. It is a great role and I was on board immediately for the project." "Balika Vadhu... Lamhe Pyaar Ke" also stars Avinash Sachdev and will premiere on April 25 on Colors.
