'Game of Thrones' to get companion series

Los Angeles: HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones" is getting an aftershow dubbed "After the Thrones", which will premiere on April 25, one day after the sixth season debuts. "After the Thrones" will feature interviews with the producers and various stars of the show as well as celebrity guests, reported Aceshowbiz. It will be hosted by Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan of "The Ringer". A new online feature from HBO partner Bill Simmons, the post-show series will only be available HBO Now, HBO Go and HBO On-Demand services. There's still a possibility that it would wind up on HBO at a later date. The companion series "will recap the latest episode, explaining the who, what, when and where, exploring the complicated politics and history of Thrones, and offering absurd and not-so-absurd theories about future episodes. Greenwald and Ryan will discuss the show as only they can." "After the Thrones" is constructed similar to such shows as "Talking Dead" (for 'The Walking Dead') and "Talking Bad" (for 'Breaking Bad'). Simmons is the founder of Grantland.com, in which Ryan and Greenwald hosted a podcast of "Watch the Throne".
