CONFIRMED: After Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Chandragupta Maurya To Go OFF-AIR

Faisal Khan and Sourabh Raaj Jain starrer Chandragupta Maurya will soon go off air.

New Delhi: Sony TV is all set to launch its tent-pole property ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 11’. The quiz based show, to be hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, will go on-air from August 19 at 9pm slot. The channel will be axing ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’ and ‘Ladies Special 2’ to make way for ‘KBC 11’.  The fans of Randeep Rai and Ashi Singh starrer ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’ are quite upset as their favourite show is going off air. We had earlier told you that ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ is also under scanner and might go off air. As per the latest buzz, the channel has finally taken a decision and the show will bid adieu to the viewers by the end of this month. A report in a leading daily has suggested that ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ will go off air on August 30. The historical show was launched right after the culmination of ‘Porus’ at 8pm slot. It was recently shifted to 7:30pm post the launch of ‘Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein’. The producer of the show Siddharth Kumar Tewary confirmed the news of the show while talking to the portal. “I am happy with the way the show shaped up. It was meant to be a finite series and since inception, it was scheduled to wrap up by August. The writing is always different when it comes to a limited series. I feel that it gives more opportunity to perform better as the story moves at a faster pace. I didn’t want to extend it beyond what was originally planned,” Siddharth told Times Of India. Faisal Khan took over the role of ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ from Kartikey Malviya six months after the show’s launch. “The show is ending. It obviously feels bad, as you develop a bond with the team over a period of time. I would have liked it to run a little longer, but it’s a finite series and can’t be dragged on unnecessarily,” the actor told TOI.

Faisal, who is participating in ‘Nach Baliye 9’ with girlfriend Muskaan Kataria, said that he could now focus on the dance reality show. “I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. I am part of a dance reality show and it was becoming difficult to balance both. Muskaan (Kataria, his girlfriend) and the choreographers would come to Umbergaon, where the set of the show is located, for rehearsals. Now, I can focus on the reality show,” Faisal told the daily.
