'Star Bharat' lead actress Manul Chudasma ousted overnight; Srishti Jain to replace her!

'Meri Durga' & 'Main Mayke Chali Jaungi..' fame Srishti Jain is replacing Manul Chudasma as 'Rani' in Star Bharat's 'Ek Thi Rani Ek Tha Raavan'.

Star Bharat's show 'Ek Thi Rani Ek Tha Raavan', featuring Ram Yashvardhan & Manul Chudasma in lead roles of 'Rivaaj' & 'Rani', started in January this year amid huge expectations and replaced channel's hit show ‘Kya Haal Mr. Paanchal’. But, the show has failed to deliver as per expectations however the lead pair is getting decent response for their performances. But here comes bad news for the loyal fans of 'Ek Thi Rani Ek Tha Raavan'. 'Ek Thi Rani..' is all set for a revamp and the makers have ousted lead actress Manul Chudasma from the show. Speaking about the same, 'Ek Thi Rani...' producer Suzana Ghai told a leading daily that, "We had no issues with the actress at all," she says, adding, "The show is taking a big turn and we wanted someone, who looks sensuous, stylish and justifies the twist we are bringing in the show. The track requires Rani to outgrow her middle-class beginnings and take on a new avatar." Whereas actress Manul Chudasma, who is shocked with her sudden replacement, said that, "I am a Mumbai girl and have been brought up in a modern environment, so I wonder if being glamorous was the only reason for replacing me. Wearing stylish and short clothes is not alien to me," she says. "In fact, when I took on the role of Rani, they wanted me play to a demure middle-class girl. They even told me to study the mannerisms of a girl like that as they felt I was bringing too much of Manul into the character. It was my debut show and I learnt a lot. Having said that, I'd like to add that I am happy for the new person stepping in. The show must go on and I have no bitter experiences or issues with it. The makers may have felt that a new face was needed to take things further. But it is strange that the character of the heroine has undergone such a drastic turn - from a middle-class family girl to a glamourous one." Confirming the same, Srishti told Bombay Times that, "Main Mayke Chali Jaungi just got over. I am happy to get a chance to be part of another show immediately. Besides, the concept of this show is different to what I have done before. Yes, the makers wanted a glamorous and stylish Rani to take over."
