Drugs Case: Sushant Singh Rajput's Friend Siddharth Pithani Out On Parole For His Wedding

A Mumbai court ordered Siddharth Pithani to surrender himself again on July 2 after getting married on June 26.

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Sushant Singh Rajput's close friend and flatmate Siddharth Pithani in connection with his death case in May 2021. A Mumbai court on Thursday (June 17) rejected his bail application during the hearing. Siddharth Pithani had applied for bail citing marriage as the reason. The court rejected the bail application but allowed Siddharth to be out on parole for a few days.

Siddharth Pithani, who is all set to tie the knot on June 26, will have to surrender himself again on July 2, as per the court's order.

Siddharth was arrested on May 26 from Hyderabad in connection with the drugs case related to SSR’s death. He was sent into judicial custody following his arrest. Pithani was reportedly absconding for a long time and was arrested by the NCB in a joint operation with its Hyderabad office. He has been reportedly booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act.

The investigating agency involved with SSR’s death case arrested Siddharth Pithani three months after filing a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and others. The NCB also questioned two former domestic workers of Sushant Singh Rajput, Neeraj and Keshav in the case.

Sushant Singh Rajput's death case was earlier being investigated by the Mumbai Police. The Central investigating agencies joined the probe after the Supreme Court ordered a CBI probe based on Sushant’s father’s complaint filed against Rhea Chakraborty and others.
