According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ amassed Rs 22 crore in India on its opening day. The film saw a strong start with a 58.81% occupancy in the morning, which rose to 60.27% in the afternoon. Trichy and Pondicherry recorded the highest occupancy at 92.00% and 91.67%, respectively, while Chennai witnessed an impressive 88.33% turnout.

‘Vidaamuyarchi’ marks Ajith Kumar’s long-awaited return to the big screen after two years. The film also features Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Vijay Ramya in pivotal roles. The story follows Arjun (Ajith Kumar) and Kayal (Trisha), a couple on the brink of divorce after 12 years of marriage. However, their lives take an unexpected turn when they become stranded in Azerbaijan, and Kayal mysteriously goes missing. Determined to find his wife, Arjun embarks on a gripping quest to uncover the truth.

The ABP Live review of the film reads: The film takes off without unnecessary grandeur, opting for a straightforward narrative. Though there’s no typical mass-hero introduction for Ajith, the Sawatheeka song sets an engaging opening mood. The first thirty minutes establish Arjun and Kayal’s relationship—how they met, fell in love, and why they are now on the verge of separation. Additional characters, including Arav and Regina, are introduced gradually. Since the storyline is already familiar, the real momentum begins only when Trisha’s character goes missing, shifting the film into a gripping phase. The sequences where Ajith, alone in a foreign land, searches desperately for his wife add to the intrigue. The interval block brings an expected but well-placed twist.
