Fahadh Faasil Spotted Using Rs 5 Lakh Keypad Phone That’s 17 Years Old. Watch

Fahadh Faasil was recently spotted using a luxury keypad phone worth Rs 5 lakh, a rare sight that grabbed attention online.

Fahadh Faasil’s old-school lifestyle has once again caught the internet’s attention, this time thanks to a rare glimpse of his phone. A new viral video has confirmed what many of his co-stars have said before: the acclaimed actor chooses to stay disconnected from the smartphone age, and proudly so.

Fahadh Faasil’s phone gets internet's attention

The clip, taken during the puja ceremony of director Abhinav Sunder’s upcoming film 'Mollywood Times' starring Naslen, shows Fahadh speaking on a phone, and true to actor Vinay Forrt’s earlier comments, it’s a far cry from anything you'd call “smart.” But what truly grabbed attention is the fact that it isn’t just a basic keypad phone - it's an ultra-premium device that originally cost around ₹5 lakh.

According to tech content creator Effin M, who posted a video decoding the phone on Instagram, the device in question appears to be the Vertu Ascent Ti - a luxury handset that launched back in 2008. Crafted from high-end materials like titanium, sapphire crystal glass, and hand-stitched leather, the phone once retailed at an eye-watering ₹5.54 lakh. While it's no longer in production, pre-owned versions can still be found online, typically priced between ₹1 to ₹1.5 lakh.

Adding to the speculation, a Hindustan Times report suggested that Fahadh might be using the Vertu Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone, which was listed at $11,920 (approximately ₹10.2 lakh) on the official Vertu website before going out of stock.

Fahadh Faasil likes to stay low-key

Despite the gadget frenzy, Fahadh continues to stay fiercely low-key — a lifestyle choice that’s become almost as iconic as his filmography. Known for his aversion to social media and digital noise, the actor remains elusive in an industry obsessed with visibility. He doesn’t own a smartphone, avoids social platforms, and still makes headlines with his unconventional choices.

On the work front, Fahadh had a powerhouse 2024 with films like Aavesham, Vettaiyan, Bougainvillea, and Pushpa 2: The Rule. Now, he’s set to open 2025 with Maareesan, reuniting with Maamannan co-star Vadivelu. The film is slated to release on July 25.
