New Delhi: The year 2021 did not start on a positive note for Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who has been working selflessly for the betterment of this country’s people. A notice was issued against the ‘Prithviraj’ actor by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) accusing him of converting his residential building into a hotel without taking permission.

The ‘Entertainment’ actor approached the High Court last month confronting the order of a city civil court that has dismissed his suit against the BMC. However, the High Court dismissed the ‘Dabbang’ actor’s plea, saying that law helps only those who are diligent.

Now, according to the latest update, the ‘Simmba’ actor has withdrawn his plea in the illegal construction case.

According to a report of ANI, “Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood, withdrew his petition from the Supreme Court in connection with his plea on illegal construction at his Mumbai residence. A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by CJI Sharad Arvind Bobde, allowed Sonu Sood to withdraw the petition.”

Sonu Sood also shared a tweet and wrote, “Justice prevails.”

He shared a statement which read, “The Hon’ble Supreme Court has finally given me a breath of fresh air and time to take corrective measures. The structure was always legal, despite it being coloured otherwise. I feel vindicated since I have always had utmost and complete faith in the judiciary, and have always strived to abide by the law.”

“My sole endeavour has been to conduct my business in fair manner, with all the requisite permissions and clearances as may be required in law. Unfortunately, I have had to suffer at the hands of certain persons with nefarious designs, who were out to malign my image. My request to everyone is to not give in to the demands of such people, who masquerade as social activists, but are essentially not. May better sense prevail upon them.”

The actor ended his note by saying, “In the end, as always, justice prevails.”

On the professional front, Sonu Sood has several films including 'Prithviraj', 'Thamilarasan' and 'Acharya' in the pipeline. He will also share the screen space with Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt in YRF's 'Prithviraj'.
