New Delhi: Divya Agarwal has been called "gold digger" by internet trolls for supposedly breaking up with Varun Sood and getting engaged to a wealthy guy. Divya, who recently got engaged to Apurva Padgaonkar has cautioned her fans to remain discreet. She said she was open and honest about each one of her relationships.
After Divya and Apurva's engagement was made public, Varun Soon dropped a cryptic tweet of an emoji. People speculated that Varun's tweet of a peaceful emoji was his response to the news.
Divya responded to online haters in a recent interview; she avoided discussing Varun's reply. The actress told ET Times, "I would not want to comment on his reaction, but I would expect some sensitivity from fans regarding my engagement. I have been in relationships and have always been open about it, but that should not mean that netizens can say anything on my personal life. I am engaged now and they should show some sensitivity and not talk about my past relationship. I am in a very happy space and look forward to my life with Apurva."
Divya got the surprise proposal by Apurva during her birthday party, Divya stated that it was easy for her to say yes as they have known each other for a long time. The Times of India quoted Divya saying, “Sometimes it may take an entire lifetime to understand if a guy is right for you and at times, it takes just a few minutes to decide that he is the one.”
On Monday, Divya shared photos from her birthday celebration and Apurva’s proposal on Instagram. She wrote, “"Will I ever stop smiling? Probably not. Life just got more sparkly and I found the right person to share this journey with. His #BaiCo. A forever promise. From this important day, I will never walk alone.”
Divya and Varun were in a relationship for around two years, they started dating during their stint in Ace Of Space.
