Shefali Jariwala's Friend Reveals What Really Happened Before She Died: 'Pulse Was Still On...'

Actor Shefali Jariwala's close friend Pooja Ghai recalls her final moments, an IV drip the night before, and the heartbreaking aftermath at home.

The sudden demise of actor Shefali Jariwala has left the entertainment industry and her fans in deep shock. Best remembered for her breakout appearance in the iconic music video 'Kaanta Laga', Shefali passed away late Friday night at the age of 42.

In a conversation with journalist Vivek Lalwani, Shefali's close friend and fellow actor Pooja Ghai opened up about the actor's final hours, remembering her as someone who was deeply committed to her health and wellbeing. “Shefali was health-conscious, always eating right, and taking care of herself,” Pooja shared. “She didn’t have to make an effort for it and that it was always a part of her life.”

What happened the night Shefali Jariwala died

When asked about what led to Shefali’s tragic and sudden passing, Pooja said, “What happened exactly, that we'll know only after the post-mortem. What I have understood from family and Parag Tyagi is that there was this beautiful Satyanarayan ki pooja a day before. The house was still decorated when we brought Shefali for the last rites. She had regular dinner, and then she asked Parag to walk the dog. The moment he went down, the helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi ki tabiyat theek nahi hai (Shefali is not feeling well)’.”

Narrating what followed, Pooja added, The dog was very old, so Parag asked the helper to come down and take the dog. So he was waiting for the lift, and when the helper came, he went up. Parag said that the pulse was still on, her eyes were not opening, and she just had dead weight to her body. So he realised that something was definitely wrong and he took her to the hospital, but apparently when she was brought to the hospital, she was already dead.”

Did Shefali use Vitamin IV on the day she died?

Amidst swirling speculation, Pooja also addressed claims about Shefali’s use of intravenous vitamin therapy. She confirmed that Shefali had taken a Vitamin C IV drip the night she died. While this revelation has raised questions, Pooja insisted that the practice is routine in many places and isn’t inherently dangerous.

“Shefali’s death is heartwrenching,” she said, recounting the emotional toll it took on the actor’s mother. Pooja recalled staying by the grieving mother's side that night. “She was complaining of heart pain. I talked to the doctor and gave medicines to Shefali's mother and left only when she fell asleep,” she said.

Shefali Jariwala's death

Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, but doctors declared her brought dead. While preliminary speculation pointed to cardiac arrest, authorities have not confirmed the official cause of death.

Police have ruled out foul play, classifying the incident as an accidental death. Early medical reports suggest a sudden and severe drop in blood pressure could be a contributing factor.
