New Delhi: The trailer for the upcoming film ‘Shabaash Mithu’, in which Taapsee Pannu stars, has just been released. The movie is a biography of the life of the legendary cricket and Indian Women's Cricket Team captain, Mithali Raj. Mithali Raj has been playing international cricket for 23 years and has scored over 10,000 runs in one-day internationals, shattering several records in the process. The movie tells the story of how she overcame the obstacles to become a successful cricket player.

It's Taapsee Pannu who portrays Mithu, the aspiring cricketer in the trailer. Vijay Raaz, who plays her coach, is the only one who doesn't laugh at her. He recognises her ability and invites her to join the ladies' cricket squad. Mithu, on the other hand, is constantly tormented and mocked. She learns to stand up for herself in the face of ridicule and society's expectations. 

Taapsee announced the trailer's release on social media, writing, "Mithali Raj You know the name, now get ready to see the story behind what makes her the legend. The movie focuses on ‘Changing the Gentleman's Game!’ Indeed, the trailer promises to be an inspirational biography.

This movie's trailer perfectly encapsulates the film's concept of 'Nazariya badlo, khel badalgaya' with its gripping language and enticing peeks of Taapsee as Mithali. 

The movie, which is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios, is scheduled to be released in theatres on July 15th.
