Ravi Kishan Recalls Facing A Casting Couch Situation, Says, 'I Can’t Name Her...'
While sharing his experience on the casting couch, Ravi Kishan referred to the lady as a "big shot" without revealing her identity.
New Delhi: Ravi Kishan, the actor-turned-politician, has been working for over 30 years and has become a household name in Indian films. Recently, the actor discussed his terrible encounter with the casting couch. It comes as a surprise to some that the actor had to deal with the casting couch at the beginning of his career.
In a recent interview with Rajat Sharma, the actor said that he had narrowly avoided being victimised by the sins of the casting couch. He discussed the event on Aap Ki Adalat, saying, "Yeah, it happened and this is something that happens in the industry. But I somehow managed to escape. My father had taught me that I should approach my work with honesty, I never wanted to take a shortcut. I knew I was talented."
The actor described the woman as a "big shot" today without revealing her identity. He said, "I can’t name her, because she has become a big shot now. She had said, ‘Coffee peene raat me aayie (Come over for a cup of coffee tonight)’. I thought that is something people prefer to have during the day, so I got the hint and refused."
Ravi Kishan is one of the popular actors in the Hindi and Bhojpuri film industries. In 1992, he debuted in the film ‘Pitambar’, a Hindi film. Ravi has acted in some of the prominent films of Bollywood such as ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Luck’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Bullet Raja’, ‘Kick 2’ and others.
Ravi Kishan was further questioned about his supporting role in 'Hera Pheri' film starring Akshay Kumar. The actor's response was, "This is life. We do films about friendship or helplessness. At times, you get stuck emotionally. People have often trapped me emotionally. I did films as a compromise and played roles that, people told me, were not required for an actor like me."
He also appeared on the first season of popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. The actor has experimented with OTT medium with shows like ‘Rangbaaz’ and ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’.
