Rapper A$AP Rocky Gets Arrested At Los Angeles In Connection With 2021 shooting

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said that A$AP Rocky was taken into custody early on Wednesday morning at LAX.

New Delhi: 'A$AP Rocky,' real name Rakim Mayers, was taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of a shooting in November. It was verified by attorney Alan Jackson that Mayers had been detained.

According to reports, Rihanna was with Mayers when he was detained. Numerous law enforcement sources familiar with the case, and a search warrant has been executed at Mayers' Los Angeles apartment.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said that he was taken into custody early on Wednesday morning at LAX. Accused with assault with a dangerous weapon is a 33-year-old Los Angeles resident. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has been notified of the investigation.

According to authorities, the gunshot victim suffered just a minor injury.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2021, a man was shot and killed in Hollywood. An altercation between two "acquaintances" erupted and quickly spiralled out of control. Gunshots were reportedly fired at the victim by the suspect, subsequently identified by authorities as Mayers. 

According to police records, the victim alleged A$AP Rocky fired at him three or four times, and he thought a bullet had grazed his left hand. 

Rihanna had been seen with Mayers in Barbados only a few days before. It was revealed in January that the high-profile celebrity couple was pregnant with their first child together. 

Previously, the pair was the focus of a fake infidelity scandal. An apology was sent by the individual who started the rumour.
