Randeep Hooda Fulfills His Promise To Dalbir Kaur, Sister Of Sarabjit Singh, Performs Her Final Rites
Hearing the news of Dalbir Kaur's demise, actor Randeep Hooda who essayed the role of her brother Sarabjit Singh in the biopic 'Sarbjit', immediately left from Mumbai to perform her final rituals.
New Delhi: Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh passed away due to a heart attack yesterday, on June 26. Hearing the news, actor Randeep Hooda immediately left from Mumbai to perform her final rituals. Randeep essayed the role of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and who consequently spent 22 years in jail for alleged terrorism and spying, in the biopic 'Sarbjit' that released in 2016.
The role of Dalbir Kaur was played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film.
Touched by Randeep's performance in the film, Dalbir saw her brother in the actor. Both Randeep and Dalbir shared a great bond together. The relationship of this brother and sister was so pure that Dalbir had asked Randeep to give ‘kandha’ when she dies ( offer his shoulder before taking the body to the cremation.)
The actor accepted it and made sure to be present at the funeral today. He did as he promised where he not just gave , ‘kandha’ to her but also also lit the pyre.
