Poonam Pandey Hospitalised; Husband Arrested For Assaulting Her

Actress Poonam Pandey's husband Sam Bombay has been arrested after she complained that he assaulted her.

New Delhi: Poonam Pandey has been admitted in a hospital with serious injuries. The actor's husband Sam Bombay has been arrested after she complained that he had assaulted her. According to reports, Poonam was admitted after lodging the complaint.

"The case has been registered against Sam Bombay under the sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The actress has suffered serious injuries on her head, eyes and face," Mumbai Police told ANI. 

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay got married last year. Sam was previously arrested in Goa right after their marriage, for assaulting her. A complained had been filed by Pandey where she mentioned that she had been molested and threatened with dire consequences after being assaulted by him. Sam Bombay was booked under sections 353 (causing hurt), 353 (insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354 (outraging modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, Pandey had accused her husband of beating her badly. She had said that she got a brain haemorrhage because of him. Sam Bombay was arrested in Canacona village in South Goa after Pandey’s allegations against him. 

In an earlier interview, Poonam had revealed that her family members suggested her to leave her husband after the incident. She said, “My family doesn’t want me to be with him. They never wanted me to be in this situation.”

Recently, the actor had moved the Bombay High Court to file a criminal case against Raj Kundra and his associates in Amsprime Media. She had shared that she was threatened and forced to sign a contract which stated that she would have to shoot, pose and look a certain way according to their will or else her personal stuff would be leaked.

Poonam Pandey made her Bollywood debut with the 2013 film Nasha. Playing the female lead, she portrayed the role of a teacher who develops a sexual relationship with one of her students.
