A heartwarming tale of love, passion, and revenge, 'Paashbalish' unveils the journey of 'Babla' and 'Mampi', two childhood friends who were separated in Bangladesh. Fastforward 15 years, and the storyline raises the questions: Will fate reunite them, or will their reunion alter their lives forever?

The trailer of the show, released a few days back, reveals the rollercoaster journey of the lead characters in the series and how fate entwines the past and present leading to a chain of events bound by love, revenge and separation.

To know more about the show, ABP Live had a conversation with Suhotra Mukhopadhyay where he shared tidbits about his character, calling it one of his "favourite roles" till date.

Suhotra said, "The name of my character is Chandu, who is weird, innocent, but at the same time unusual. Growing up in a police station, his life is strange- without any friends or companions. He only has two friends, a hen, and a dog. Amid his simple life, he is confronted by his past one fine day- eventually leading to a chain of circumstances which he needs to overcome either with his innocence or by becoming revengeful."

"It is one of my favourite characters and the entire project had a commercial approach, which I had not done previously. Apart from this, there were some action sequences which were very new to me, making the experience all the more exciting," he added.

The show happens to be very interesting for Suhotra as there are many things in it that he had to do for the first time.

Sharing about his preparaton for the role, he said, "The script itself is a huge part of preparation but apart from this what I do is- I have a chat with my characters, ask questions, visualise and understand their psyche. This process helps me a lot to prepare for my roles."

Prior to 'Paashbalish', Suhotra Mukhopadhyay had been seen in a number of movies and series including 'Indu', 'Dakghor', and 'The Eken — Ruddhaswas Rajasthan' among others, where he has played a diverse range of characters. Talking about something that he has not done yet and wishes to do in future, he said, "I want to do an out and out action movie to see whether I can pull it off or not."

Meanwhile, 'Paashbalish' is set to stream on Zee 5 from May 10, 2024.
