'I Have Renewed Respect For Journalism...': Sanjeeta Bhattacharya After Being A Part Of 'The Broken News'
With Sonali Bendre, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya and Jaideep Ahlawat reprising their roles of fierce journalists in the second season, the show brings in other new characters as well.
After an exciting and engaging Season 1, 'The Broken News' was back with another season on May 3, continuing from right where it left. Unveiling the realities of journalism in today's time and the constant battle between right, wrong and TRPs, the show beautifully showcases the kind of dilemmas a journalist faces and the added pressure of big businessmen and paid PR. The show also delves into the bond of friendship that goes beyond the boundaries of likes, comments and TRPs, and the innate urge to always stand for the truth no matter now adverse situations become.
Streaming on Zee 5, the first season was an adaptation of the series 'The Press', while the second season is written by Sambit Mishra and directed by Vinay Waikul as it deals with the conflict of 'sach' versus 'sansani' in the struggle for survival amidst ever-evolving media dynamics.

Sanjeeta Bhattacharya Shares Fond Memories About Her Co-Stars:
Sharing about the show and the how it was working with everyone else, Sanjeeta (who played Juhi) had a chat with ABP Live over email where she was all in praise of her co-stars.
Recalling fond memories, she said, "I grew up watching Sonali ma’am on screen and now finally to share it with her was a dream come true. She is so lovely. Shriya and I hit it off immediately. I have found a true friend in her, someone I genuinely care deeply about. During shoot, we always ate our lunches together and spoke of life, music, travel and family. Those moments of bonding forged our friendship."

On Playing The Role Of A Journalist:
Giving interviews and interacting with the media is part and parcel of being an actor. Being on the other side of the table in this series, Sanjeeta said, "I have renewed respect for journalism because of 'The Broken News'. I realised the dangers, challenges and dilemmas that come with being a journalist. It’s absolutely not easy and your moral compass needs to be so grounded to do the right thing despite everything."
On False News And Media Trolling:
Since, the series deals about media propanganda and the constant war between sense and sensationalism in the field of television journalism, Sanjeeta spoke about whether she was ever a victim of false news.
Luckily, she hadn't faced any of it till date and jokingly said, "The only false news I’ve read about myself so far is when they got my birth date wrong haha. It’s 20th May, not 21st!"
Speaking about social media trolling, Sanjeeta added, "I haven’t been trolled on social media but I have seen it happen to people who I care about and they deal it by not responding and engaging these trolls who I feel are just nameless, faceless people who have too much time in their hands. Breathe it out, delete, block and move on."

From a musician to stepping into Bollywood as an actor, Sanjeeta's journey transcends borders and countries. Making her debut with the web-series 'Feels Like Ishq' after which she did 'Jawan' and now 'The Broken News', she calls her journey a "domino effect".
"Until October 2020 I was solely doing music professionally. Then I was approached by a casting dierector to be in an ad. They had spotted me in my own music video. One ad let to more and within a couple of months I got Netflix’s Feels Like Ishq. Once that released I was approached for Jawan. It was very much like a domino effect and jigsaw falling into place. I love how the universe has weaved this new artform into my life," she said.
