Fans can finally get ready to witness double the fun in ‘Panchayat’ season 3. The comedy series headlined by Jitendra Kumar is all set to hit our screens on May 28.

The fans, along with the cast of Panchayat’, will return the Phulera village to witness the characters' wild adventure. The actor Chandan Roy, aka Vikas in the series, has already assured that this season will be a riot of funny events, new challenges, and new fascinating characters. Jitendra Kumar was rejected from NSD

Jitendra Kumar, aka our beloved Sachiv Ji, is a civil engineer and a graduate of IIT Kharagpur. The actor quit his job within just eight months to embark on his journey to fulfil his dream of seeing himself on the screen. All about the director of Panchayat

Deepak Kumar Mishra, the director of ‘Panchayat’, admitted that he was inspired by Doordarshan’s popular serials like Malgudi Days, Swami, and Tenali Rama to craft the premise for his show. 2. Fans might recognise Mishra from his popular spoof of Raghu Ram in 'Rowdies'. For the unaware, he also directed 'Permanent Roommates' Season 2 and 'Humorously Yours' Season 2.

Reel and real-life friends 

Biswapati Sarkar, who appeared in the show ‘Panchayat’, as Abhishek Tripathi’s friend, Prateek, are friends in real life. Jitendra met Biswapati during his college years; the latter went on to become the executive creative director and writer of 'The Viral Fever' (TVF). The story behind the costumes in Panchayat 

Costume designer Priyadarshini Majumdar bought clothes for the cast from the local markets to make the characters look more realistic. However, the clothes shrank after a wash, which forced her to approach brands to get custom-made costumes for the entire cast.

The real village from the Panchayat series

The comedy show is set against the backdrop of a small village named Phulera in Uttar Pradesh. But in reality, it was shot in the Mahodiya village of Sehore district in Madhya Pradesh. You can even see the Panchayat office and the water tank (interestingly named Rinki Ki Tanki) on Google Maps.

The original name of the Panchayat series

The series was originally named SDO Saheb by the producers since the story is based on an SDO’s character. Eventually, the makers picked Panchayat, as the Panchayat office was the main element in the entire story.

Who is Faisal Malik?

The actor Faisal Malik, who portrays the role of Prahlad Pandey, also owns a production company named Hamari Film Company. Malikk has worked as an executive producer in films like 'Revolver Rani', starring Kangana Ranaut, and 'Main Aur Charles', headlined by Randeep Hooda.
