Sidharth Malhotra proves to be AN INSENSITIVE ‘GENTLEMAN’

Hardly did actor Sidharth Malhotra realised that one tweet would land him into deep trouble!

New Delhi: An awkward calm prevailed in Punjab and Haryana on Saturday after incidents of violence on Friday left 30 people dead following the Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction in a 15-year-old rape case. Army units patrolled several areas across the two states through the night that were affected in the Friday mayhem. The riots left nearly 250 others injured. Many of the Bollywood celebs welcomed the CBI court's decision and urged people to stay safe and maintain peace. But in all of this, Sidharth Malhotra could not come out of his 'A Gentleman' promotional avatar. 'Student Of The Year' actor expressed his concern for the situation in Punjab and Haryana. But his tweet has turned things upside down. He wrote, "To all the people of Haryana, please stay safe. Hope you can see our film soon #Agentleman #PeaceAndLove." Sidharth Malhotra’s latest film ‘A Gentleman’ has hit the screens this Friday. The actor is so occupied with the film promotions. Hardly did he realised that one tweet would land him into deep trouble!

A rush of comedy, action, romance coming your way... #AGentleman our next poster is here! Releasing this #Aug25. @jacquelinef143 @foxstarhindi

There is right time for everything and clearly this tweet was not one of them. Sidharth linked his film promotion with the current gruesome situation in Punjab. This insensitive gesture made people rage their anger on him. Politician Omar Abdullah criticised Sidharth for his wrong timing at a wrong place. He tweets “I thought a couple of my tweets may have been a bit thoughtless when protestors started dying but this takes the bloody cake.” Well, this is not all. To amend what he tweeted before he further tweets and says “To people who are commenting on my morning tweets, they were made before the verdict! Thoughts and prayers." Stay tuned for more updates!
