Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3' Shortened By Approx 9 Minutes On Second Day
Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer 'Dabangg 3' reportedly has too many songs and was criticised majorly because it served as a hindrance in the narrative.
New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan's latest release "Dabangg 3", which hit the screens on December 20, is doing good business at the domestic box-office despite getting affected from ongoing anti-CAA protests in the country. Just like Salman Khan's last few releases, 'Dabangg 3' too has got mixed reviews from critics as well as viewers. Featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Saiee Manjrekar opposite Salman, 'Dabangg 3' collected Rs. 24.50 crore on Friday which is below expectations and the latest buzz suggests that makers have trimmed the film on the second day of its release.
'Dabangg 3' REVIEW: Salman Khan's Film Is For Hardcore Chulbul Fans According to a Bollywood portal, 'Dabangg 3' has been trimmed by almost nine minutes on Saturday as it has been facing criticism for its long duration due to too many songs in the narrative. Revealing the same, a source told an entertainment portal that, "Out of nine minutes, approximately eight minutes have been removed from the first half. The song ‘Awara', featuring Salman and Saiee Manjrekar, has been edited out. Also, their other song ‘Naina Lade' has been slightly trimmed. Moreover, a few comedy scenes didn't elicit the desired laughs from the moviegoers. Those too have been chucked out from the revised version." The song featuring Sonakshi Sinha, who plays Salman aka Chulbul Pandey's wife 'Rajjo' in 'Dabangg 3', is still there in the film. "The viewers majorly had issues with the first half being too long. So most of the trimming was done in the pre-interval sequence. As for the second half, a few scenes have been shortened," the source further told Bollywood Hungama. Now, it'll be interesting to see if the new version of 'Dabangg 3' will get better response from the viewers or not. On a related note, the film remained in the same range as compared to opening day and collected Rs 24.75 crore on Saturday thereby making the grand total to Rs. 49.25 crores (all versions).
