Ponniyin Selvan 2 Update : PS Anthem By AR Rahman, Gulzar Out
Touted to be Mani Ratnam’s dream project, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ will be released on April 28, 2023.
New Delhi: Another song from 'PS-2' is out. Titled 'PS Anthem', the song is from AR Rahman and has been penned by Gulzar. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the song launch announcement on his official Twitter handle. The song which is in Hindi features snips from the film and AR Rahman mixing the track with a rap background to give it a contemporary touch.

Earlier, the third song from 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' was released. The song titled 'Shivoham', revolved around Madhurantakan aka Uttama Cholan (played by Rahman).
Shivoham is also composed, produced and arranged by A.R.Rahman and is based on Nirvana Shatakam by Adi Shankara. It is sung by renowned Singers Sathyaprakash, Dr. Narayanan, Sreekanth Hariharan, Nivas, Aravind Srinivas, Shenbagaraj, T.S. Ayyappa
‘Ponniyin Selvan 1 & 2’ are based on the successful book of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy which was published in 1955. There have been many attempts to adapt the novel into celluloid but Mani Ratnam’s has been the most successful and fruitful one.
Most of the ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, among others are likely to return to ‘PS-2’.
