Kartik Aaryan On His Fall Out With Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions

Kartik Aryan was supposed to star in Dostana 2 but there were rumours that the actor’s ‘unprofessional’ behaviour is the reason for his exit from the film.

New Delhi: Kartik Aryan, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, has finally opened up about his exit from Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2 and his fallout with Karan Johar.

Kartik Aryan was supposed to star in Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya but Kartik was later ousted from the film. Dharma Productions released an official statement about the same that read, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”

There were rumours that the actor’s ‘unprofessional’ behaviour is the reason for his exit from the film.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, when asked if an incident like this can affect him since he has no background in the film industry, the actor said, “I just focus on my work. That’s all I would like to say on this. Look at my (film) line-up (right now).”

He was also asked about the reports of a few industry insiders creating a lobby against the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The actor replied, “Nobody has the time for it. What happens, at times, is people make ‘baat ka batangad’ (make a mountain out of a molehill). There is nothing more to it. No one has so much time (to think so much). Everybody just wants to work, do good work. Other than that, things are just rumours.”

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film also stars Tabu, Kiara Advani, and Rajpal Yadav and is scheduled to release on May 20.
