Kapil Sharma's Next Film Will Release Directly On OTT. Deets Inside
Kapil Sharma made his Bollywood debut with the film 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' which received mixed response from critics but did a record-breaking business for a debut film.
New Delhi: Kapil Sharma is already one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry known for his popular comedy show 'The Kapil Sharma Show. While Kapil is currently on a successful tour in the US and Canada where he is performing live, another news about him signing a film has taken the internet by a storm.
According to reports, Kapil Sharma will be collaborating with Applause Entertainment's Sameer Nair for a digital film that is set in the years after the partition of British India.
“When Kapil heard the story, he loved the idea and agreed to be a part of the project. However, the signing formalities are yet to be done. Meanwhile, the makers have already begun the pre-production work for this direct-to-OTT film, and will make the official announcement after Kapil returns to Mumbai. It will be an ensemble cast, and Kapil’s idol Gurdas Maan is also likely to feature in the project. Casting for other pivotal characters is still underway,” a source close to the publication said.
In February 2022, Kapil made the announcement of his collaboration with filmmaker Nandita Das official on social media. Sharing and] image with the makers of the film and co-star Shahana Goswami, Kapil wrote, "Applause Entertainment & Nandita Das Initiatives are thrilled to present the most exciting collaboration of the year. Writer-Director-Producer Nandita Das teams up with Kapil Sharma in a never seen before avatar of a food delivery rider. Kapil will be joined by Shahana Goswami as the female lead. Filming soon! Need your blessings.”
