Jigna Vora Mentions Her Reason For Joining 'Bigg Boss 17', Talks About Her Trial And More

Former crime reporter Jigna Vora has joined the latest season of the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 17, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan

New Delhi: Former crime reporter Jigna Vora has joined the latest season of the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 17, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The decision to enter the Bigg Boss house came as a result of her son's eagerness to see her participate in the show.

Her decision to join Bigg Boss 17 came as a surprise to many, as she has spent most of her career investigating and reporting on criminal activities. When asked about her motivation to participate in the reality show, Jigna Vora revealed that it was her son who encouraged her to take this bold step. The opportunity to showcase her real self beyond the realm of crime reporting seems to be the driving force behind her decision.

Jigna Vora, in an interview with ABP Live, mentioned that she has watched several seasons of Bigg Boss in the past. Among her favorite contestants is the late Sidharth Shukla, who won the hearts of many with his charismatic and unfiltered personality. While Jigna mentioned that she doesn't have any game plan or strategy for surviving in the show, it is clear that she admires those who are authentic and true to themselves, a trait she may strive to embody during her own stint in the Bigg Boss house.

Jigna Vora's life story gained widespread attention due to her involvement in a highly publicized and infamous case. In the past, she was arrested in connection with the 2011 murder of investigative journalist J Dey. This arrest sent shockwaves throughout the media and journalism community. Jigna Vora, then a crime reporter herself, was accused of having links to the crime. However, after a lengthy legal battle, she was eventually acquitted of all charges, and her name was cleared.

Asked if she is ready for the game of survival in the show, she said: "In life also there is a lot of survival issues each and everyone faces. It is just that in real life people don’t know about it but in the show it will be seen. That is the only difference.”

During her stay in the Bigg Boss house, Jigna, while conversing with her fellow housemates, gave details about her arrest and how she came back victorious in 2018.

“My career started as a crime reporter in 2004. Everything was working from trainee reporter to the graph went up… by 2011 I became the deputy bureau chief but one day fellow journalist got murdered,” Jigna was heard saying.

She added: “And after 7-8 months I was arrested for passing some tipoff about that person to one of the underworld gangsters... I had interviewed him (the gangster) a week before the murder.”

Jigna said that the struggle started from there to prove herself innocent.

“I got jailed for 9 months then I got bail after 9 months…. The struggle and the trial began. In 2018 I was acquitted. No charges. This had to happen. I take it positively.

She added: “In these 7 years my family members died but it's just me and my son….. Main gunde mawali ke language samaj paati thi and bhagwaan ne mujhe wohi language main sikha diya.”

The journey of Jigna Vora from a crime reporter to a Bigg Boss contestant is a testament to her resilience and the desire to explore new avenues in life. As the audience watches her navigate the challenges and drama of the Bigg Boss house, they can expect to see a different side of this seasoned journalist, one that goes beyond the headlines and into the heart of reality television.
