Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui stepped into the world of reality television as a contestant on the highly popular Indian reality show, Bigg Boss 17, hosted by none other than Salman Khan.

New Delhi: Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui stepped into the world of reality television as a contestant on the highly popular Indian reality show, Bigg Boss 17, hosted by none other than Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Munawar, who is known for his impeccable sense of humour and unique storytelling style, in an exclusive interview with ABP Live, discussed his upcoming stint on the show and the changes he expects it to bring into his life.

Munawar Faruqui is no stranger to reality television, having previously participated in Kangana Ranaut hosted 'Lock Upp', a show with a somewhat similar format. However, Munawar believes that his past experience in the 'Lock-Upp' house will indeed be valuable in the Bigg Boss house, despite the differences in format and the diversity of personalities involved.

"It's not only about being on the camera. It's about being with people, understanding how they think, whether as a competitor, partner, or friend," Munawar explained. "Every person is different, and the way they approach the show is different. The audience for Bigg Boss, especially on OTT platforms, is different. So, yes, my experience will help, but it's always a competition," he added.

Reflecting on the changes he underwent after his previous reality TV experience, Munawar emphasized the importance of artists having a platform to showcase their talents. He expressed his excitement about participating in Bigg Boss, calling it the number one show in India that reaches a global audience. For an artist, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

When asked about his game plan for the show, Munawar kept it light, stating that he didn't want to reveal too much. He preferred to let his actions speak for themselves.

Munawar's plus point in the game, according to him, is his authenticity. He doesn't engage in pretentious behavior and prefers to stay true to himself. "I don't weigh my words before speaking or sugarcoat them. I make sure that whatever I say carries a meaning and has value," he said.

Munawar also acknowledged the unique challenge of impressing someone of Salman's stature and was conscious of the fact that Salman Khan is more than just an audience; he's the boss.

Talking about his game plan and strategy to make his way towards the winning trophy and his take on two popular couples up against singles, Munawar said he prefers to go with the flow and not stress about implementing any particular strategy.

When it comes to knowing other contestants, Munawar mentioned that he was not familiar with any of them beforehand. The names are there online, but he entered the Bigg Boss house with a clean slate, ready to face whatever surprises lie ahead.

Munawar Faruqui's entry into the Bigg Boss 17 house promises to add a unique flavour to the show, with his humour, authenticity, and unpredictability. Fans and viewers can't wait to see how this talented stand-up comedian navigates the challenges and dynamics of the Bigg Boss reality show.
