New Delhi: Aamir Khan’s daughter Kira Khan opened up about her mental illness in a video last month. She took to her social media and revealed that she has been clinically depressed for more than four years now. Ira made this video to raise awareness on World Mental Health Day so that more and more people come up and talk about their mental illness. In these videos, she will be speaking about her experience with depression. In the video, Ira shed light on the fact that dealing with depression varies from person to person. A process which might be very helpful to one person, might not work for another depressed person. She cited an example of people telling her to stay busy, stay positive and workout. Ira revealed that she has consulted around four doctors and, in the process, learned that staying busy is not exactly what she needed to stay mentally fit. She also said that when she shared about her depression to her parents, her aunt, Kiran aunty (probably she refers to Aamir Khan’s second wife), they all told her to ‘stop being busy, stop jumping from one thing to the next... Just be... Just slow down’. Ira further said, ‘I used to work out a lot, but now I’m scared of working out, which is frustrating because I loved working out a lot’.
