"I have nothing to do with these posts or the products and treatments, or the spokespeople touting these cures. I have type 2 diabetes, and I ONLY work with my board certified doctore regarding my treatment,” His post added.

The 'Forrest Gump' star opened up about Type 2 diabetes back in 2013. He had then said, "I went to the doctor and he said, ‘You know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been dealing with since you were 36? Well, you’ve graduated,’” at the David Letterman's The Late Show, "‘You’ve got Type 2 diabetes, young man.’”

Hanks has been quite vocal about talking about health causes and medical treatment during his career.

In April 2024, Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson stepped out as the honorary chairs of 'An Unforgettable Evening' benefitting the Women's Cancer Research Fund. The cause was close to the couple, as Wilson had undergone a double masectomy for breast cancer in 2015.

On numerous occasions, Hanks has credited his wife, for helping him organize his time so that he can deviote his efforts to good causes.
