‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Locks OTT Release Date After $400M Box Office Run

Anthony Mackie’s first outing as Captain America may have divided critics, but it is now set to premiere on an OTT platform this May.

New Delhi: Captain America: Brave New World surprised critics and audiences alike by earning more than $400 million worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing picture of 2025. The Marvel movie will soon be available to watch on streaming services following its theatrical run.

The film will premiere on Disney+ on May 28, and in India, it will be available to stream on JioHotstar.

Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, 'Captain America: Brave New World' marks Anthony Mackie’s big screen debut as the titular hero, fully stepping into the role of Captain America after his evolution in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

'Captain America: Brave New World' Plot

The narrative follows Sam Wilson as he handles a diplomatic encounter with Harrison Ford's character, freshly elected US President Thaddeus Ross, that degenerates into a world catastrophe. As Wilson represents America's emblem of justice and hope, he must act fast.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Sebastian Stan.

The movie received a lot of criticism for having a "tired and uninspired" tone, with its pace and overly complex plot receiving special attention.

'Captain America: Brave New World', which combines Marvel spectacle with themes of political conflict and personal legacy, has earned its spot among the year's greatest box office stories even if it may not have won over reviewers.
