Confirmed! Filmmaker Hansal Mehta To Direct Thriller Web Series On Gangster Vikas Dubey Encounter

Just a day after his arrest at the Ujjain temple, the history-sheeter Vikas Dubey was shot dead in an encounter by STF on Friday morning in Kanpur.

Hindi Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is set to helm a thriller web series on the mysterious and one of the most talked-about encounter of the notorious gangster Vikas Dubey. Replying to a tweet by a journalist who shared details of the project, Mehta cleared the air saying, "Development begins soon. @ShaaileshRSingh thank you for this..."

As per the tweet to which Mehta had replied, the web project will be produced by Shaailesh R Singh’s Karma Media and Entertainment, in association with Polaroid Media. It will be 'an edgy political - thriller', that will explore "the nexus of politics, crime, and lawmakers." In another much-awaited project, Hansal Mehta will be working on a film around the 'Coronavirus Pandemic'. The development was confirmed by ‘Thappad’ director Anubhav Sinha last month, who revealed that he will be teaming up with Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Ketan Mehta, and Subhash Kapoor to produce the film under his production banner, ‘Benaras Mediaworks’. The notorious gangster Vikas Dubey, who was on the run after killing eight policemen in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on July 3, was arrested on Thursday, July 9 at the Mahakal temple.
