Erica Fernandes Not Impressed With 'Brahmastra', Says It's ‘A Great Try But Not A Successful One’

Television actress Erica Fernandes has mixed reviews for Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer 'Brahmastra'. She said the film is 'a great try but not a successful one'.

New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’ is doing well at the box office despite getting mixed reviews. The film has collected Rs 164.40 crore in India till now. While the film has got mixed reviews from the audience, film and television celebrities have praised the film unanimously. Television actress Erica Fernandes has a slightly different view of the film, she said the film is 'a great try but not a successful one'.

Recently, Erica hosted Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, where she was asked if she had watched Brahmastra. Erica had mixed reviews for the film, she praised the VFX, but said that she wished that there had been training for actors for such films.

Sharing her review of the film, the actress wrote, "Yes, I did. It was a great try but not a successful one. It was a film high on VFX which was beautifully done. But I wish there were more efforts put into training the actors for this kind of filmmaking and it was not directed by a director whose forte has only been romance. (sic)."

She added, "Nevertheless, this is a baby step toward making things bigger and better in Bollywood too. Everyone learns from their mistakes and I hope some good comes out of this too. This is my opinion as clearly everyone is entitled to one (sic)."

Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji also reacted to the criticism the film is facing for its dialogue and writing. In a conversation with The Indian Express, the director said, “I thought this would give the film a soul. That the greatest energy comes from within you and the greatest form of energy is when you are in a state of love. It may have sounded better on paper than it came across to certain people. But India has a diverse audience. Points all noted, but the wise thing to do is wait till day 30, understand, and then take our notes.”

'Brahmastra Part 1- Shiva' stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role alongside Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy among others. Deepika Padukone also had a cameo in the film.
