Duchess Kate Middleton Turns 40, Celebrates With Three New Gorgeous Birthday Portraits

The official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave a glimpse of the glamourous portraits on Instagram.

New Delhi: Kate Middleton turned 40 on Sunday, and Kensington Palace released her three new portraits to mark the day. The photos were shot by photographer Paolo Roversi last November at Kew Gardens. The official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave a glimpse of the glamourous portraits on Instagram. 

In the three portraits, Kate wore dresses by designer Alexander McQueen. Sharing the images on social media, Kensington Palace said they will now be a part of the National Portrait Gallery in London."Delighted to share a new portrait of The Duchess ahead of her 40th birthday tomorrow. This is one of three new portraits which will enter the permanent collection of  the National Portrait Gallery, London, of which The Duchess is patron,” a Twitter post read on Saturday.

 

 

Another tweet read: "These new portraits which have been released to mark the 40th will be shown in the community in three meaningful places: Berkshire, St. Andrews and Anglesey, as part of the National Portrait Gallery, London nationwide 'Coming Home' exhibition, ahead of the Gallery reopening in 2023."

 

 

The National Gallery Of London expressed delight over exhibiting the Duchess' portraits. It commented on the tweet: "Thrilled to be welcoming the three new portraits into our Collection!"

 

 

Several users responded to the posts, appreciating the beauty of Duchess of Cambridge. One user wrote,"I am speechless. This image is simply iconic and will go down in history! I really don't know how to react, I am just mesmerised by the beauty, elegance and perfection of this portrait of The Duchess Of Cambridge."

 

 

Kate will celebrate her 40th birthday in a private ceremony with her family. The Duchess of Cambridge has been married to Prince William since 2011. The couple has three children.
