'Drishyam 3' Gets Confirmed, Mohanlal Fans Hail The 'Classic Criminal'

New Delhi: The superhit crime thriller 'Drishyam 3' headlined by south superstar Mohanlal is finally happening. The film will be the third in the popular franchise produced by Antony Perumbavoor and was announced at Mazhavil Entertainment Awards on Saturday. 

Folliwing the announcement, the video went viral in no time with fans hailing the actor. Fans started trending the hashtag Drishyam 3. Several twitter users shared video of the announcement from the award ceremony and hailed Mohanlal's return as the 'classic criminal'.

The Malayalam thriller directed by Jeetu Joseph in 2013, earned both critical and commercial acclaim. The film has been one of the best thrillers and became so popular that its remake was made in four different languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

'Drishyam' is the story of Georgekutty who defends himself and his family after his wife accidentally kills the son of the Inspector General of Police, who was harassing their daughter. 

The hindi remake of the film stars Ajay Devgn as the protagonist with Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta in lead roles.

Mohanlal's 'Drishyam 2' released on the ott platform Amazon Prime Video and was lauded by the audience. Ajay Devgn has also begun shooting for the second part of the film.
