Drishyam 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Ajay Devgn Starrer Mints Rs 64.14 Cr On Its First Weekend

Starring Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Tabu, the film grossed Rs 27.17 crore on its third day.

New Delhi: ‘Drishyam 2’, starring Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Tabu, is raking in cash at the box office. On its third day, the film grossed Rs 27.17 crore. With a 40% rise on Saturday alone, this is a phenomenal boost, and it's clear that the mass belts are a big reason why the movie is doing so well at the box office.

After Sunday's earnings of around Rs 25–27 crore, the film's opening weekend total will be somewhere between Rs 65 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the weekend box office numbers, “#Drishyam2 ends *Weekend 1* with a BIG BANG… Creates HAVOC on Day 3… Reboots and revives biz… Brings JOY, HOPE, CONFIDENCE, OPTIMISM back... Targets ₹ 💯 cr in *Week 1*… This one’s a SMASH-HIT… Fri 15.38 cr, Sat 21.59 cr, Sun 27.17 cr. Total: ₹ 64.14 cr. #India biz."

‘Drishyam 2’ gained steam during advance bookings. The film's success or failure on Monday will be a good indicator of how well it does at the box office for the rest of the week.

Ajay Devgn’s movie is a relief for Bollywood after a string of disappointments this year, particularly from films starring high-profile actors.

'Drishyam 2' has been directed by Abhishek Pathak and is the remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name besides also being a sequel to the crime thriller 'Drishyam' which was released in 2015.

With Ajay Devgn and Tabu, this suspense film has all the makings of a blockbuster. According to ABPLive review of the movie, “Drishyam 2 offers a good closure to both the Salgaonkar and Deshmukh family with a reiteration of what Vijay Salgaonkar had said in the first part about his family. 'Drishyam 2’ does not follow its characters around but achieves even greater effect by connecting plot points and not reiterating the film (directly or indirectly) in a scene.”
