Police Files FIR After Deepfake Video of Aamir Khan Surfaces

Other than Ranveer Singh, a deepfake video featuring Aamir Khan endorsing a political party circulated widely across social media platforms. The video prompted Mumbai police to register an FIR. The FIR, lodged at the Khar Police station by Khan's office, cited relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 419 (impersonation) and 420 (cheating), alongside other provisions of the Information Technology Act.

The spokesman for Aamir Khan called the video "fake" and released a statement that reads: “We want to clarify that Mr Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career.
