Nysa Devgn Bollywood Debut Not Happening Anytime Soon, Confirms Kajol
Kajol Devgn recently addressed the ongoing speculation about her daughter Nysa Devgan’s potential Bollywood debut.

Kajol Devgn recently addressed the ongoing speculation about her daughter Nysa Devgan’s potential Bollywood debut. Contrary to popular belief and industry buzz, Kajol revealed that her 22-year-old daughter currently has no plans of entering the film industry. In a candid conversation with News18, the actress said, “Bilkul nahi… no. I think she is 22 years old now, and I believe she has made up her mind that she will not be stepping into Bollywood at the moment.”
Kajol Devgn on legacy and lineage
The revelation has come as a surprise to many, especially in an era where several star kids are following in their parents’ footsteps. Nysa, the daughter of Bollywood power couple Kajol and Ajay Devgn, has often been in the limelight for her public appearances and fashion sense, prompting speculation about a possible debut.
Kajol also reflected on her own entry into the film industry and how she chose not to leverage her prominent lineage for fame. “I wanted to be true to myself and did not want the baggage of lineage. That’s why I thought if I’m known simply by the name Kajol, maybe there wouldn’t be as much pressure on me,” she shared.
For those unfamiliar, Kajol hails from a celebrated film family. She is the daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee. Her maternal grandmother, Shobhna Samarth, was a renowned actress, while her maternal grandfather, Kumarsen Samarth, was a film director. On her paternal side, her grandfather Sashadhar Mukherjee was a legendary producer in Indian cinema.
Kajol’s Upcoming Film ‘Maa’
On the professional front, Kajol is set to headline the upcoming mythological horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia, who recently garnered attention for Chhorii 2 starring Nushrratt Bharuccha. The film showcases Kajol in a fierce avatar as a mother determined to protect her daughter, portrayed by Kherin Sharma. Also featuring Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta in key roles, Maa blends mythological themes with supernatural elements and is slated to release in theatres on June 27.
