Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Team Confirms The Actor Has Safely Boarded The Flight From Israel

A member of Nushratt Bharuccha’s team said that the actor ended up stranded there after flying there for the 39th Haifa International Film Festival.

New Delhi: Nushrratt Bharuccha was stuck in Israel due to ongoing clashes between Israel and the Palestinian terror group Hamas, a member of her team announced on Saturday. In a statement to India Today, a member of Nushratt's team said that the actor ended up stranded there after flying there for the 39th Haifa International Film Festival. Nushrratt has finally boarded the plane for India and will shortly touch down in Mumbai, according to the most recent details from her team.

"Nushrratt has finally boarded the flight for India and is on her way back home. She will be landing in Mumbai at 2:00pm," the actor's team stated.

A member of her team had earlier said that the actor was safe in a basement. But they haven't been able to communicate since then. In a new statement, Nushratt's team confirmed that they have spoken with the actor and that she is being escorted back to the country safely.

"We have finally managed to get in touch with Nushrratt and with the help of the Embassy, she is being safely brought back home. We did not get a direct flight so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank god that she is safe and on her way to India," the statement read.

The Islamist organisation Hamas of the Gaza Strip waged a multifront attack on Israel over the weekend, launching thousands of rockets as dozens of Hamas fighters broke across the heavily guarded border in several spots. Hamas' rocket attack on Israeli cities and Tel Aviv's retaliation have so far cost around 500 lives. In a statement made yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his "deep shock" at the news of the terrorist atrocities in Israel.

On the work front, 'Akelli', a thriller starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, was released on August 25. The film, which is set in Iraq, shows how a person finds her own strengths under challenging circumstances, such being alone in the desert.
