Acclaimed actress Moon Moon Sen's husband Bharat Dev Varma has passed away. Bharat Dev Varma was battling health issues for quite some time. As per reports, an ambulance was called to his home in Dhakuria, Kolkata when his condition worsened but before the ambulance could reach the hospital, he died. 

Who is Bharat Dev Varma

For those unaware, Bharat Dev Varma was a descendant of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura. His mother, Ila Devi, was a princess of Cooch Behar, and the elder sister of Maharani of Jaipur, Gayatri Devi. Bharat's grandmother was the only daughter of Maharaja of Vadodra. 

Meanwhile Moon Moon Sen also comes from a family of accomplished people. Her mother Suchitra Sen was a renowned Bengali and Hindi film actress while her father was the son of the wealthiest businessman in Kolkata. Her great-grandfather Dinanath Sen was the Diwan or a Minsiter of the Maharaja of Tripura.

Moon Moon Sen and Bharat Dev Varma got married in 1978. Interestingly, Moon Moon Sen got into films after marriage and motherhood. She has been a part of more than 60 films and 40 TV serials. She has worked in Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi films. She is also the recipient of Andhra Pradesh state's Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Bharat Dev Varma is survived by his wife Moon Moon Sen and their daughters Raima and Riya Sen. While Raima has been a part of films like Il Nirjane, Arekti Premer Golpo, Baishey Srabon, Manorama Six Feet Under, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., C/O Sir, Noukadubi, Aami Aar Amar Girlfriends, and more. Riya has also featured in popular Bollywood movies like Good Luck, Style, Apna Sapna Money Money, Paying Guests, Tere Mere Phere, among others. Recently, Riya was seen in the Amazon Prime Video series Call Me Bae, starring Ananya Panday in the lead role.
