Mahira Khan Talks About Her Relationship With Her Former Husband And How They Raise Their Son

Mahira Khan talked about Ali and her relationship she still has with her former in-laws.

New Delhi: After years of dating, Mahira Khan got married Pakistani businessman Salim Karim. Social media is flooded with videos and pictures from their dreamy wedding. Ali Askari was the former spouse of the Pakistani actor. They got married in July 2007 and their son, Azlan, was born in 2009.

Mahira Khan talked about Ali, the relationship she still has with her ex-in-laws, and how they helped her in raising Azlan in a 2021 interview with Fuchsia Magazine. 

“I think that Azlan’s father and their family and my family, we are on the same page, when it comes to Azlan. I’m very close to them, even now, as I have grown up in their house. It takes work, it takes swallowing your pride at times, and it takes trying to understand the other person. And for your child’s sake, you do it. If you’re lucky that people from both sides are good and looking at the child’s well-being and true happiness, then you forget the bitterness,” the actor said.

Salim Karim and Mahira Khan recently got married. The couple apparently first ran into one another in 2017 at the launch of a television project called Tapmad TV.

In a beautiful ceremony with Pakistan's Murree as the backdrop, she made her vows to businessman Salim Karim. The couple had their wedding in an outdoor setting, surrounded by their closest friends and family. A moving video posted on Instagram stories by Mahira's manager, Anushay Talha Khan, gave the world a glimpse of the wedding of Mahira and Salim. A glimpse of Mahira's bridal trousseau appeared in the clip, which featured her glowingly dressed in a soft white lehenga. The bride wore an exquisite long veil that elegantly hid her head, along with a choli (blouse), a full lehenga skirt, a dupatta, and other bridal accessories.
