Gulshan Devaiah said that Ranveer Singh must have been hopelessly smitten with Deepika from the start.
New Delhi: When it comes to Bollywood's mushy couples, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are right up there. Deepika and Ranveer Singh’s wedding took place in Italy in 2018. Before getting married, they dated for six years. The duo initially became close while filming ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, and their romance began then. Gulshan Devaiah, who portrayed Bhavani in the film, reveals an unexpected detail about their on-set romance in a recent interview. He remembers seeing Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's chemistry on the sets.
Gulshan Devaiah told Bollywood Hungama that he didn't pay much attention during the film's first schedule of shooting, but that he saw a strong chemistry between Deepika and Ranveer during the second schedule, which took place in Udaipur. Gulshan continued by saying that he couldn't believe his eyes when he spotted Deepika sitting on Ranveer's lap.
The actor said, “First schedule mein toh humne kuch nahi dekha. Second schedule laga tha Udaipur mein, aur wahan pe notice kiya, arey godi mein baithi hai yeh, kya hogaya yeh. Humne toh notice hee nahi kiya tha guru. Yeh kab hogaya. Gaana-waana song sequence do-teen karwaye they, tab toh kuch nahin dikha humein, aake apna kaam karke chali jaati thi (In the first schedule, we didn’t see anything. It was during the second schedule in Udaipur that we noticed she was sitting on his lap. We had shot a few song sequences together, but back then we didn’t see anything. She would come, do her work, and leave).”
He elaborated by saying that Ranveer must have been hopelessly smitten with her from the start.
The film ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and featured Ranveer and Deepika in their debut on-screen pairing. They took on the roles of Ram and Leela. The film stars Supriya Pathak, Sharad Kelkar, Richa Chadha and others.
