'He Was An Oversensitive Person': Dil Bechara Director Recalls Sushant Singh Rajput's Struggle With Negative Remarks
Sushant Singh Rajput was described as being "oversensitive" and "affected very easily" by things around him.
New Delhi: Speaking about his directorial debut with 'Dil Bechara', Mukesh Chhabra—who had a tight relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput—spoke about the lead actor of his film. In an interview with Lallantop, he stated that he still finds it difficult to watch his movie songs because of Sushant's memories. The actor was described as being "oversensitive" and "affected very easily" by things around him.
“It was during the (Covid-19) pandemic. If I knew what he was going through, I would’ve gone and spoken to him. We used to meet very often. From his first film to his last one, our relationship remained strong,” Chhabra said.
When asked about how Sushant felt affected by losing out from several projects, Mukesh responded, "He would get affected very easily. He would get upset with people very easily. He would get very upset if he read a negative article about himself. He was an oversensitive person, we all are.”
Sushant Singh Rajput's body was found in his Bandra flat on June 14, 2020. Mumbai Police initially looked into his death; they then gave the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which hasn't submitted a closure report yet. The actor is believed to have died by suicide. In the past, Sushant's family had accused his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of abetting suicide. In the course of investigating Sushant's death, a suspected drug case also led to her imprisonment. Before being granted bail, Rhea spent 28 days locked up.
'Dil Bechara', Sushant Singh Rajput's final movie, was released following his demise. Alongside him in the film was Sanjana Sanghi, who was making her feature debut. Based on the same-titled novel, 'Dil Bechara' is the Hindi adaptation of the popular Hollywood film 'The Fault in Our Stars'.
