Bollywood couple Deepika and Ranveer Singh are expecting their first child. 

New Delhi: Actor Deepika Padukone, who recently made headlines with her gorgeous look at the BAFTA awards, is reportedly pregnant. According to reports, Bollywood couple Deepika and Ranveer Singh are expecting their first child.

Deepika Padukone is in her second trimester and ready to become a mother, according to reports in The Week. The report says that since Deepika allegedly covered up her midriff during the 77th BAFTA red carpet, there were rumours that she was pregnant. For the BAFTA awards, Deepika donned a shimmering saree and specially designed jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Earlier, in a interview with Vogue Singapore, Deepika opened up about having children. “Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family,” she said.

“In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children,” she added.

After dating for six years, Deepika and Ranveer Singh got married on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy. On the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela', they met for the first time. Later on, they starred in 'Padmaavat' and 'Bajirao Mastani' as well. In November of last year, Deepika and Ranveer celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium.

On the work front, Deepika starred alongside Hrithik Roshan in the aerial action thriller flick 'Fighter'. Her next appearance will be with Prabhas in the science fiction action thriller 'Kalki 2898 AD'. In Rohit Shetty's cop drama Singham Again, Ranveer will play Simmba again. It also stars Deepika, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Ranveer will also star in Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3', which is slated for release in 2025.
