Arshad Warsi Reflects on Industry Disparities and the Struggles Faced by Outsiders

Arshad Warsi was currently seen in the well-received series 'Asur 2', which is streaming on JioCinema.

New Delhi: Actor Arshad Warsi recently shared his views on nepotism in the film industry, acknowledging that there is an imbalance between actors with industry connections and those without. Warsi, who started his career as an outsider with the film 'Tere Mere Sapne' in 1996, expressed gratitude towards Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and director Joy Augustine for giving him a chance when he had no connections in the industry.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Warsi discussed the challenges he faces after delivering a flop and the difficulties faced by actors like him. He recognized that there is a segment of actors who are more privileged due to their familial connections in the film industry. Warsi did not complain about this disparity, as he believes the industry has given him a lot and he is thankful for it. He even mentioned that he thanks Joy Augustine, Jaya Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan every morning for the opportunities they provided him.

However, Warsi also expressed his observation on how nepotism works in the industry. He acknowledged that the norm is for actors with industry connections to receive multiple chances to deliver a hit, while those without connections have to struggle to make a comeback after a single flop. Although he accepts this reality, he finds it sad that some actors are not afforded the same opportunities as others.

Warsi concluded by stating that he would probably do the same for his own children, implying that he understands the advantages that come with industry connections. Despite this, he emphasized the difficulties faced by actors who do not have such privileges and have to work harder to bounce back after a setback.

Arshad Warsi was currently seen in the well-received series 'Asur 2', which is streaming on JioCinema. His remarks on nepotism have sparked a discussion about the disparities in the film industry and the challenges faced by actors without industry connections.
