Anurag Kashyap on taking break from acting
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India about his plans for 2025, Anurag said, “Next year I’m not going to make a film. I’m just going to relax and rejuvenate, and watch films. This year was for making films and lots of acting. I had to get my daughter married. For an Indie filmmaker to do that kind of a wedding. Now my daughter’s married. I’m more calm and I will now feed my soul.”

Anurag Kashyap on Hindi film industry
In the same interview, Anurag expressed his frustration and disappointment with the current state of the Hindi film industry. He criticised its preoccupation with profits, remakes, and the rising costs of filmmaking, stating that the joy of filmmaking has been “sucked out.”
He also blamed talent management agencies for prioritizing turning aspiring actors into “stars” instead of fostering good actors. He added that the challenging situation in the industry makes it difficult for him to explore experimental projects.
