Amitabh Bachchan Silences Trolls With Sharp Comebacks Over Late-Night Tweets

Known for his clever quips and philosophical musings on X (formerly Twitter), Amitabh Bachchan recently took on a few trolls who mocked his habit of posting late at night.

Amitabh Bachchan may be 81, but his presence on social media is as lively and sharp as ever. Known for his clever quips and philosophical musings on X (formerly Twitter), the veteran actor recently took on a few trolls who mocked his habit of posting late at night. Unfazed and armed with his signature wit, Big B delivered fitting replies that instantly went viral.

In the early hours of Monday, June 9, Big B posted a cryptic tweet: “T 5405 – Gadgets break…Longevity lasts!!!” While many followers took it in stride, a section of users took jabs at his age and urged him to sleep early.

Netizens take a jibe at Amitabh Bachchan

One such user snidely remarked, “Samay se so jaya karo, varna lambi umar bhi nahi tikegi.” To this, Bachchan responded with unflinching calm, writing, “Mere maran ki baat karne ke liye dhanyawaad, ishwar ki kripa (Thank you for talking about my death, by God’s grace).”

Another follower, referencing the title song from his iconic film Shahenshah, quipped,"Andheri raaton mein Shaehshah kyun jaag rahe ho, so jaaiye ab umar ho gayi aapki."

Amitabh Bachchan's reply to trolls

The actor delivered yet another razor-sharp reply, “Ek din tumhari bhi umar ho jaayegi, ishwar ne chaaha (One day, you’ll grow old too, if God wills).”

These pointed responses quickly went viral.

Amitabh Bachchan's projects

Bachchan was last seen in the 2024 Tamil action film 'Vettaiyan', headlined by Rajinikanth and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Despite an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh, the film underperformed at the box office.

The actor has a robust slate of upcoming projects, including Ribhu Dasgupta’s 'Section 84', the next chapter in the 'Kalki 2898 AD' saga, and 'Brahmastra Part 2: Dev'. Additionally, he’s expected to return as host for the next season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' later this year on Sony TV.
