Amitabh Bachchan Buys Fourth Property In Ayodhya Worth Rs 40 Crore, Expands Assets Beyond Rs 1,500 Crore

Discover how Amitabh Bachchan is expanding his real estate portfolio with new high-value land purchases in Ayodhya and a lucrative duplex sale in Mumbai.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been actively investing in Ayodhya over the past year. According to a report by Hindustan Times, his latest acquisition is a 25,000 square feet plot valued at Rs 40 crore. This land is reportedly located near the upscale real estate development ‘Sarayu,’ where he had previously invested. This announcement follows closely after Big B invested Rs 10 crore each in a real estate firm owned by Bollywood producer Anand Pandit.

This new purchase marks Amitabh Bachchan’s fourth real estate investment in Ayodhya. As per a Mint report, the megastar had bought a 5,372 square feet plot in the city before the Ram Temple inauguration last year, reportedly paying Rs 4.54 crore. In addition to his Rs 14.5 crore investment in the Sarayu project, he acquired a 54,000 square feet plot registered under his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s trust. Reports indicate that the actor plans to build a memorial for his father on this land.

Amitabh Bachchan's Ayodhya investments

Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan’s real estate investments have been growing steadily. Last year, he, along with his son Abhishek Bachchan, purchased 10 apartments worth a total of Rs 25 crore. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member and actress Jaya Bachchan disclosed the couple’s assets last year, as mandated during election filings in India. Their combined assets were declared to be worth Rs 1,578 crore, with Rs 849.11 crore in movable property and Rs 729.77 crore in immovable property—a figure that has likely changed since then.

As mentioned earlier, Bachchan has made significant strides in the real estate sector with notable success. Recently, he sold a duplex in Mumbai’s Andheri area for Rs 83 crore, which, according to the Times of India, he had purchased for Rs 31 crore in 2021.
