Penning a note on Instagram, Alia Bhatt wrote, "One of the most beautiful films I have seen in a while! With such fabulous performances.. The film has also been appreciated by the likes of several south stars like Kamal Haasan and Rishabh Shetty. Farhan Akhtar, Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor were also all praises for the film.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra's '12th Fail' is about the struggles of UPSC aspirants and the struggles they face in real life while prepping for the exam. The film alos draws on these struggles.
Vikrant Massey starrer '12th Fail' collected a gross worldwide collection of Rs. 66 cr amid word of mouth and good reviews.
'12th Fail' is a 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an IPS officer.
'12th Fail' was released in theatres on October 27, 2023.
