Exclusive | 'I Was Very Nervous...': Ahsaas Channa On Playing The Character of 'Archie' In 'Half CA'

Ahsaas Channa meticulously pulled off the character of the 'always nervous' Archie and received wide acclaimation for her fisrt lead role.

New Delhi: Ahsaas Channa was recently seen in the TVF series 'Half CA' where she played the role of the protagonist 'Archie' who is all set to prepare for the CA examinations. The story revolves around the struggles of a young girl in a new and fast-paced city like Mumbai along with the pressure she has to handle while preparing for one of the toughest exams of the country. While Archie grapples with the overwhelming syllabus, new beginnings also come her way as she steps into college. However, for a CA aspirant, there is nothing known as 'college life.' Ahsaas Channa meticulously pulled off the character of the 'always nervous' Archie and received wide acclaimation for her first lead role.

While talking to ABP Live over a video call about the appreciation that she is getting for her performance in 'Half CA', Ahsaas said, "I am really really happy. To be very honest, I was very nervous about this particular show because this is my first web-series as a single protagonist. Usually, I am always a part of an ensemble where I am one of those main characters, but this specific show is one that revolves around Archie's and Neeraj bhaiya's story. This was a lot of pressure as well, and I did not know that I would be able to lead a show completely on my own."

Ahsaas also talked about her overall experience of working in this particular series saying that it was "amazing". She also said that 'Half CA' was one of the best sets that she has worked on and definitely the best project that she has got. Additioanlly, she also loved the character she got to play.

"It's definitely the best character that I have played. I remember when there were talks about 'Half CA' and I came to know that the protagonist will be a young female, I immediately pitched myself and asked the writers to audition me and see if it works, and they did. I gave an audition and cracked it. Then, when I read the script, it was a beaiutiful one. In general all TVF scripts are really beautiful, they are so human and when you get to be a part of such stories, when people relate to you- I think that is the biggest gift that an actor can get," Ahsaas went on to say.

Sharing what the show is all about, Ahsaas further said, "Here we are talking about the entire CA community, an exam which I one of the most difficult in India, so we wanted to do complete justice. That is why we were a little worried about whether people will relate to it and like it. And, the good part is that not just the CA community but everybody else who is not a CA or a commerce student are also liking it because it is relatable to everybody- to somebody who has come from a different city to Mumbai and how they are not able to adjust. There are students who come from a different city to a larger city and they have to live without their parent's support, they have to live on their own, they have to adjust and so on..."
