New Delhi: The web series ‘Aashram’ starring Bobby Deol in the role of the protagonist is a crime drama directed by Prakash Jha. This series is now streaming on MX Player and is based on criminal Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. ‘Aashram’ tells the tales of the godman while mirroring reality. Aashram Chapter 2: Karni Sena Raises Objection Over Bobby Deol's Web Series, Sends Legal Notice To Prakash Jha The plot revolves around ‘Baba Nirala’ portrayed by Bobby Deol whose followers have blind faith in him and will do anything that the godman asks for. But ‘Baba Nirala’, who is obviously a conman makes sure that his devotees leave behind their wealth to him and stay attached to the aashram for life. Every episode unfolds a mystery as Darshan Kumar, who portrays the character of a cop in the series, becomes adamant about bringing out the truth behind the dead bodies and skeletons that were recovered from the aashram’s property. The second season of the series picked up from where it left in the first season. It witnesses ‘Baba Nirala’ getting loathsome with each passing day and politicians getting greedier by night. ‘Baba Nirala’ in this season does not need to pretend that he is an acceptable man except in front of his devotees. In this season as well, he is busy with what he does effortlessly – playing dirty politics with the politicians who come begging for help from him and preying upon oblivious young women. The new nine episodes of ‘Aashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side’ also sheds light to the ‘prasad ke laddoos’ which are infused with drugs and other addictive substances. These ‘prasad ke laddoss’ are manufactured at a full speed. This season also shows the broken young women kept captive inside the aashram and also witnessed ‘Baba Nirala’ drugging and raping the wrestling champion ‘Pammi’ who then decides to put an end to the former’s misdeeds. The plot of ‘Aashram Chapter 2’ has been stretched more than required. Though the second season does not have anything new to offer to the viewers except for the ‘prasad ke laddoos’, Bobby Deol, however, did a splendid job. The secrets of Chief Minister Sunderlal's murders, Pammi’s revenge and other important things will be unveiled in the third season of the web series.
